Scope

This document specifies the technical requirements for plugs, sockets, and marine couplers used in high-voltage shore power connection systems (HVSC systems), including their structure, electrical performance, and mechanical properties.
This document applies to three-phase electrical accessories with control contacts, equipped with a grounding and single-pole (neutral line), with a rated current not exceeding 500 A, a rated working voltage not exceeding 12 kV, and a frequency of 50/60 Hz.
These electrical accessories are primarily used in outdoor and marine environments with an ambient temperature ranging between -25°C and 45°C, enabling the connection of ships to high-voltage shore power supply systems.
These electrical accessories are not intended for use in hazardous areas. In special hazardous environments, additional requirements may be necessary.
These electrical accessories are intended for use only in connection with copper or copper alloy cables.
Sockets or marine input sockets installed in electrical equipment or fixed to such equipment are all within the scope of this document.
