Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification, marking, order content, materials, technical requirements, inspection, testing, acceptance methods, packaging, marking, and quality certificates for steel wire ropes with a diameter not exceeding 60 mm, as well as the safety, use, and maintenance of steel wire ropes.
This standard applies to the general technical requirements for various structural steel wire ropes made from plain and coated carbon steel wires.
