GB/T 20671.3-2006 Classification system and test methods for nonmetallic gasket materials—Part 3:Standard test method for fluid resistance of gasket materials
Basic Information
Scope
1.1 These test methods specify the determination procedures for the effects of immersion in test liquids on the physical properties of non-metallic gasket materials. They are applicable to Type 1, Type 2, Type 3, and Type 7 materials described in GB/T 20671.1. These test methods are not applicable to vulcanized rubber, the procedures for which are described in Test Method D471. The test samples are cut from gasket materials or finished gasket products. These test methods can also be used for the pretreatment of multi-layer steel gaskets (MLS) or gasket materials with metal interlayers for adhesion testing according to Test Method D3359. Such pretreatment of MLS or gasket materials with metal interlayers is only a prelude to adhesion testing. Other physical property tests described in this standard are not applicable to MLS or gasket materials with metal interlayers. 1.2 Values expressed in the International System of Units (SI) are considered standard. 1.3 Attention should be paid to the warning signs provided by the suppliers of the materials related to these test methods. 1.4 This section does not address safety issues related to their use. It is the responsibility of the users of this section to consider safety and health issues and determine the scope of application of regulatory restrictions before use.
