Scope

1.1 These test methods specify the determination method of the creep relaxation rate of gasket materials under a certain pressure within a specified time period. 1.1.1 Test Method A - Determine the creep relaxation rate with the help of a calibrated strain gauge on the bolt. 1.1.2 Test Method B - Determine the creep relaxation rate with the help of a calibrated bolt equipped with a micrometer. 1.2 Values expressed in International System of Units (SI) are used as the standard. 1.3 This part does not address safety issues related to its use. It is the responsibility of the users of this part to consider safety and health issues and determine the scope of application of regulatory restrictions before use.
