GB/T 20671.1-2006 Classification system and test methods for nonmetallic gasket materials—Part 1:Standard classification system for nonmetallic gasket materials
Basic Information
Scope
1.1 This classification system provides a method for determining or describing the appropriate performance of non-metallic gasket materials. It is applicable to materials made from asbestos, cork, cellulose, and other inorganic or organic materials combined with various binders or impregnants. Materials generally classified as rubber products are not included in this classification system, as they fall under the ASTM D2000 category. Gasket coatings are also excluded, as their detailed specifications are specified in engineering drawings or separate technical specifications. Materials generally classified as laminate composite gasket materials (LCGM) are also not included in this classification system, as they fall under the ASTM F868 category, but the surface materials of laminate composite gasket materials are included in this classification system. 1.2 Since this classification system does not encompass all the performance characteristics of gaskets, its role as a basis for material selection is limited. 1.3 Values expressed in the International System of Units (SI) are used as the standard. 1.4 This section does not address safety issues related to its use. It is the responsibility of the users of this section to consider safety and health issues and to determine the scope of application of regulatory restrictions before use.
