Scope

This standard specifies the relevant safety requirements for the structure, transportation, installation, setting, process conversion, operation, cleaning, and maintenance of combination shoe repair machines (hereinafter referred to as "machines").
This standard includes all major hazards, dangerous states, and dangerous events related to the machines within the scope of this standard that may arise from the operator's intended use and foreseeable misuse of the machines (see Appendix A).
This standard applies to machines and their associated equipment used in the shoe-making industry for repairing shoes, leather, and artificial leather products, as well as machines used for orthopedic shoe production and repair.
This standard does not apply to:

—— Automatic sole-mounting machines;
—— Outline machines;
—— Handheld pneumatic nailers or hammerers.
