GB/T 24140-2009 Rubber hose and tubing for air and vacuum systems for internal-combustion engines—Specification
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies the requirements for rubber hoses and pure rubber hoses used in various air and vacuum systems of internal combustion engines. This standard does not apply to direct power brake hoses for trucks and trailers, nor to intake air inlets and airflow hoses in cabins. The hoses specified in this standard are typically used in turbocharger systems. All hoses can still be used when the temperature drops to -40°C.
Note: Although the term "vacuum" is commonly used, one of its practical applications is to reduce the air pressure for braking or controlling various engine system components. The gas transported by the hoses may be clean and uncontaminated, or it may contain oil, fuel, and their contaminated vapors caused by installation and use.
