Scope
This document specifies the requirements for instruments, technical competence of personnel, testing procedures, quality control, and documentation records for screening tests of lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), total chromium (Cr), and total bromine (Br) in electronic and electrical products using energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry. This document is applicable to screening tests of lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), total chromium (Cr), and total bromine (Br) in electronic and electrical products. It is not suitable for testing gas samples. The application of wavelength-dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry for screening can be implemented with reference to relevant standards or instrument manuals.
Note: For sample pretreatment using wavelength-dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry, please refer to relevant standards or instrument manuals.
