Scope

This standard specifies the operating conditions, technical requirements, inspection rules, test methods, and packaging and transportation for gapless metal oxide arresters used in 1,000 kV AC systems. This standard applies to gapless metal oxide arresters (referred to as "arresters") and gas-insulated metal-enclosed gapless metal oxide arresters (referred to as "GIS arresters") designed to limit overvoltages in 1,000 kV AC systems in power stations.
