Scope

This part specifies the general characteristics of pantographs used on mainline locomotives and rolling stock to collect current from the overhead contact line, and also stipulates the tests that should be carried out on pantographs (except for insulators). This part does not apply to the dielectric test of pantographs, which is a test conducted on pantographs installed on the roof of vehicles. This part does not apply to pantographs used in metro and light rail vehicle systems. For pantographs used in metro and light rail vehicles, please refer to GB/T 21561.2—2008.
