Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, product classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of nutritional yeast for food use. This standard applies to the production, inspection, and sale of nutritional yeast. This standard does not apply to yeast containing relevant nutrients obtained through non-fermentation processes such as chelation or adsorption.
