Scope

This document specifies the test conditions, testing methods, and acceptance requirements for the detection of harmful phases in austenitic-ferritic (duplex) stainless steels. The testing methods include microstructural examination, Charpy impact testing, and iron chloride corrosion testing. This document is applicable to the detection of harmful phases precipitated in austenitic-ferritic (duplex) stainless steels during production and manufacturing processes (such as heat treatment or welding) or during long-term use at certain temperatures. This document is not applicable to situations where the toughness and corrosion resistance of austenitic-ferritic (duplex) stainless steels are reduced due to other factors. Note: For the product grades primarily applicable to this document, please refer to Appendix A.
