GB/T 21868.3-2008 Pigments and extenders—Methods of dispersion for assessment of dispersion characteristics—Part 3:Dispersion using a high-speed impeller mill
Basic Information
Scope
This part specifies the method of dispersing pigments and extensional pigments using a high-speed mixer. This part should be used in conjunction with the evaluation method described in GB/T 21867, using an agreed paint base system. This part should be read in conjunction with GB/T 21868.1-2008. This method is only applicable to grinding materials with suitable high viscosity, because only a high paint base content and/or a high pigment concentration can generate high shear force. This does not mean that a method of proportionally preparing grinding materials is provided (it is not a simple task to scale up this process from laboratory equipment to factory grinding machines). Note: A high-speed mixer can be used either to directly disperse pigments or to pre-disperse them, after which they can be further dispersed using other equipment, such as sand mills (bead mills) or vertical ball mills.
