GB/T 21868.6-2008 Pigments and extenders—Methods of dispersion for assessment of dispersion characteristics—Part 6:Dispersion using a triple-roll mill

Scope

This section specifies the method of dispersing pigments and extender pigments using a three-roll mill. The test results of this method may be used to draw conclusions about the dispersion quality of the tested products after they are dispersed by corresponding production equipment. This section should be used in conjunction with the evaluation method described in GB/T 21867. A high-viscosity, volatile-free paint base system should be used. This section should be read in conjunction with GB/T 21868.1—2008. This method is only applicable to high-viscosity grinding materials. To improve the accuracy of this method, it is recommended that the dispersion procedures (processes) of the tested pigments and the agreed reference pigments be carried out at the same temperature. The results obtained by this method should not be compared with the dispersion results obtained by other dispersion methods.
