GB/T 17701-2008 Circuit-breaker for equipment
GB/T 17701-2008 Circuit-breaker for equipment
Basic Information
Scope
This standard applies to mechanical switchgear of the type "circuit breakers for equipment" (CBE), which are designed to provide protection for the internal circuits of electrical equipment.
Note 1: The term "equipment" includes appliances.
Note 2: The protected components typically include motors, transformers, and internal wiring.
Circuit breakers for equipment may have a rated short-circuit capacity higher than that required for overload conditions, and may also have a rated value for limiting short-circuit current associated with specified short-circuit protection devices (SCPD).
This standard also applies to switchgear used to protect electrical equipment in the event of undervoltage and/or overvoltage conditions.
This standard applies to circuit breakers for equipment with a rated voltage not exceeding 440 V AC and/or 250 V DC, a rated current not exceeding 125 A, and a rated short-circuit capacity not exceeding 3,000 A.
The circuit breakers covered by this standard are intended for:
—— Automatic disconnection, and non-automatic or automatic resetting;
—— Automatic disconnection, and non-automatic or automatic resetting and manual operation of opening and closing.
This standard also includes circuit breakers for equipment that prohibit automatic disconnection, or that are structurally incapable of automatic disconnection (see 3.1.3).
Note 3: For AC voltages up to 630 V, this standard may be used as a guidance document.
This standard includes all the requirements necessary to ensure that the operating characteristics of these appliances meet the requirements of type testing.
This standard also includes details related to test requirements and test methods necessary to ensure the reproducibility of test results.
Circuit breakers for equipment with PC2 performance class (see 5.2.5.2) and meeting the additional requirements of Appendix L, in M-type (see 4.4.2) and S-type (see 4.4.3) oper
