Scope

This standard specifies the dimensions, shape, weight, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, and quality certificates of straight-seam submerged arc welded steel pipes used in structures.
This standard applies to straight-seam submerged arc welded steel pipes (hereinafter referred to as "steel pipes") with an outer diameter of not less than 400 mm, which are used in buildings, bridges, towers, piles, supports, and other general structures. It does not apply to steel pipes used in mechanical structures.
