Scope

This standard specifies the safety requirements for belt conveyors (hereinafter referred to as "conveyors") in terms of design and manufacturing, installation, use, and maintenance.
This standard applies to fixed belt conveyors used for transporting various loose materials such as blocks and granules, as well as finished products.
This standard does not apply to underground belt conveyors in coal mines, belt conveyors that come into direct contact with food or drugs, or passenger-carrying belt conveyors.
For conveyors used to transport flammable, explosive, toxic, corrosive, or radioactive materials, in addition to complying with this standard, they should also comply with corresponding standards.
