Scope
This standard specifies the safety requirements for the design, manufacture, installation, use, and maintenance of belt conveyors used in coal mines. This standard applies to belt conveyors used underground in coal mines, as well as to belt conveyors used in workplaces such as open-pit coal mines and coal preparation plants that are subject to explosion hazards. It does not apply to belt conveyors powered by steel rope traction.
