Scope
This standard specifies the quality requirements, sampling methods, testing methods, as well as packaging, labeling, storage, and transportation for dried oregano (Origanum vulgare L.).
This standard applies to the quality assessment and trade of dried oregano.
Warning — Products labeled as "Mexican oregano" are not from the Origanum genus, but from plants of the Lippia genus in the Verbenaceae family; do not confuse them with the oregano varieties specified in this standard.
