Scope
This standard specifies the test conditions, test methods, and other considerations for the performance evaluation of level gauges used in industrial process measurement.
This standard applies to ultrasonic level gauges that use the ultrasonic principle for industrial process level measurement, as well as antenna-type microwave (radar) level gauges that use the microwave ranging principle for industrial process level measurement, hereinafter referred to as "level gauges". Other special types of level gauges can be implemented with reference to this standard, and the corresponding test methods for additional special requirements can be added.
