Scope

This part of GB 3836 specifies the special requirements for the structure, testing, and marking of electrical equipment, electrical equipment components, and Ex components protected by potting type "m" for use in explosive gas environments and explosive dust environments.
This part is only applicable to potting type electrical equipment with a rated voltage not exceeding 11 kV, potting components of electrical equipment, and potting Ex components (hereinafter collectively referred to as "m" equipment).
Electrical equipment used in environments where explosive gases and combustible dust may occur simultaneously may require additional protective measures.
This part does not apply to pyrophoric explosive dust that burns without the need for oxygen in the atmosphere, nor to self-igniting substances.
This part does not consider the hazards posed by combustible gases or toxic gases released from dust.
This part is a supplement and modification to the general requirements of GB 3836.1—2010. If there are conflicts between the requirements of this part and those of GB 3836.1—2010, the requirements of this part shall prevail.
