Scope

This part of GB/T 13993 specifies the structural type requirements and applicability, specifications, standard manufacturing length, fiber characteristics, mechanical performance, environmental performance, and installation requirements of outdoor optical cables (hereinafter referred to as optical cables).
This part is applicable to optical cables deployed in outdoor ducts, directly buried, underwater, and non-self-supporting overhead applications in core networks. In addition to structural and mechanical performance requirements, it also applies to optical cables deployed in self-supporting overhead and air-blown micro-cable applications.
