Scope

The first part of this standard specifies the method for determining the total arsenic content in food. The second part of this standard specifies the liquid chromatography-atomic fluorescence spectrometry and liquid chromatography-inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry methods for determining the content of inorganic arsenic in food. The first, second, and third methods of the first part of this standard are applicable to the determination of total arsenic in all types of food. The second part is applicable to the determination of the content of inorganic arsenic (including arsenate and arsenite) in rice, aquatic animals, infant and toddler cereal supplementary foods, and infant and toddler canned supplementary foods.
