This standard specifies the method for counting Escherichia coli in food.
The first method of this standard is applicable to the counting of Escherichia coli in foods with a low content of Escherichia coli; the second method is applicable to the counting of Escherichia coli in foods with a high content of Escherichia coli, but it is not applicable to the counting of Escherichia coli in shellfish and their products.
