Scope

This standard specifies the energy efficiency limits, energy efficiency grades, and test methods for three-phase power transformers.
This standard applies to three-phase oil-immersed distribution transformers with a voltage rating of 10 kV, non-excited voltage regulation, and a rated capacity of 30 kVA to 2,500 kVA, as well as dry-type distribution transformers with a rated capacity of 30 kVA to 2,500 kVA. The standard also applies to three-phase oil-immersed power transformers with a rated frequency of 50 Hz, a voltage rating of 35 kV to 500 kV, and a rated capacity of 3,150 kVA or more.
This standard does not apply to gas-insulated transformers or high-impedance transformers.
