This document specifies the application rules for resistive heating systems in locations where potentially explosive environments may exist, except for those requiring equipment protection levels (EPL) of Ga or Da (related to Zone 0 and Zone 20).
This document applies to the design, installation, maintenance, and repair of resistive heating systems and associated control and monitoring devices. It does not apply to devices operated by induction heating, skin effect, or direct line heating, nor to devices intended for stress relief purposes.
