Scope

This part of GB 3836 specifies the design, structure, testing, and marking requirements for explosion-proof electrical equipment used in explosive gas environments. This part applies to electrical equipment with a rated voltage not exceeding 11 kV (AC RMS or DC), which takes some additional measures to ensure that no dangerous temperatures, arcs, or sparks are generated during normal operation or under specified abnormal conditions.
This part supplements and amends the general requirements of GB 3836.1—2010. If there are conflicts between the requirements of this part and those of GB 3836.1—2010, the requirements of this part shall prevail.
Note: The explosion-proof type "e" can form an equipment protection level of EPL Mb or EPL Gb. For more details, see Appendix I.
