This standard specifies the general outline of the method of ultrasonic testing for aluminum and aluminum alloy round cast ingots using the immersion longitudinal wave pulse reflection method, as well as the requirements for testing personnel, environment, equipment and materials, sample preparation, testing methods, and testing records and reports.
The method specified in this standard is applicable to the ultrasonic testing of deformed aluminum and aluminum alloy round cast ingots with a diameter of 90 mm to 420 mm.
The ultrasonic testing of deformed aluminum and aluminum alloy hollow cast ingots and flat cast ingots can also be carried out in accordance with this standard.
