This standard specifies the method for measuring the rebound angle of portable chainsaws with guide plates and saw chains (hereinafter referred to as chainsaws).
This standard has been proven to be an accurate measurement method for calculating the rebound angle and rebound energy of chainsaws with an engine displacement of no more than 80 cm³. This standard is not applicable to chainsaws with an engine displacement exceeding 80 cm³. Additionally, due to the size limitations of the rebound machine structure, the effective cutting length of the guide plate of the test chainsaw should not exceed 63 cm.
Note: Although this standard is applicable to chainsaws, the rebound machine and testing procedures are also applicable to electric chainsaws. To make this testing method applicable to electric chainsaws, some instructions and protocols related to electric chainsaws have been included in this standard.
