Scope

This standard applies to B15d and B22d bayonet sockets used to connect light bulbs and semi-fixtures to a 250 V power supply voltage.
This standard also applies to sockets integrated into light fixtures or used for installation inside equipment, but only includes the requirements for the sockets.
For all other requirements, such as electrical protection against electric shocks in the wiring terminal area, they should comply with the standard requirements of the relevant appliances and should first be installed in suitable devices. When tested according to the standards of the device itself, they should also be tested. The sockets used by light fixture manufacturers should not be sold at retail.
