Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage, and shelf life of the food additive ferrous lactate. This standard applies to the trihydrate of ferrous lactate produced by the reaction of calcium lactate, sodium lactate, or ammonium lactate with ferrous sulfate or ferrous chloride, or the reaction of lactic acid with iron powder.
