Scope

This standard specifies the production methods, chemical composition, and heat treatment of ferritic nodular cast iron parts used at temperatures between -40°C and -60°C, as well as technical requirements, sampling, testing methods, inspection rules, other inspections of castings, quality records, marking and quality certificates, and requirements for rust prevention, packaging, transportation, and storage. This standard applies to low-temperature ferritic nodular cast iron parts cast in sand molds or other molds with thermal conductivity comparable to sand molds. Low-temperature ferritic nodular cast iron parts produced by other casting methods can be used as a reference for application.
