Scope

This part of GB 30439 specifies the safety requirements for flowmeters used in industrial processes, including electric shock and burns, mechanical hazards, excessive temperatures, the spread of flames from within the flowmeter, the effects of fluids and fluid pressure, and the prevention of explosions and internal explosions.
This part does not include the reliable function, performance, or other characteristics of equipment unrelated to safety, the effectiveness of transport packaging, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements, protective measures against explosive environments, or maintenance (repair) and the protection of maintenance (repair) personnel.
This part applies to flowmeters with electrical signal output. It does not apply to flowmeters subject to specific working conditions in countries such as radiation. It also does not apply to differential pressure flowmeters and ultrasonic flowmeters.
