Scope

The chapter of GB/T 4706.1-2024 is replaced by the following content:
This document concerns the safety of commercial electric food processing machinery not intended for household use. For single-phase appliances connected to one phase and the neutral line, the rated voltage shall not exceed 250 V, and for other appliances, it shall not exceed 480 V.
Note 101: These appliances are suitable for commercial food processing, such as restaurants, canteens, hospital kitchens, and commercial enterprises such as bakeries and butcher shops.
Note 102: Examples of food processing machinery include:
—— Mixers;
—— Liquid or food mixers;
—— Paddle mixers;
—— Kneading machines;
—— Egg beaters;
—— Choppers;
—— Food grinders;
—— Meat grinders;
—— Slicers;
—— Peeling machines;
—— Can openers;
—— Coffee grinders;
—— Food washing and/or drying machines;
—— Quantitative dispensers;
—— Puff pastry rolling machines;
—— Noodle cutting machines;
—— Food processors;
—— Beam mixers.
This document also applies to appliances supplied in several parts (assemblies) for transportation convenience. These appliances can be assembled into complete machines without any additional components at the installation site.
Appliances utilizing other forms of energy also fall within the scope of this document.
This document addresses the common hazards caused by such appliances.
