Scope

This document specifies the test methods for passenger elevators and freight elevators as a whole and their components. This document is applicable to traction elevators with a rated speed of not more than 6.0 m/s and forced elevators with a rated speed of not more than 0.63 m/s. For traction elevators with a rated speed of more than 6.0 m/s, this document shall be referenced, and the parts that are not applicable shall be determined by the manufacturer in consultation with the buyer. This document is not applicable to hydraulic elevators, utility elevators, household elevators, freight-only elevators, and inclined elevators.
