Scope

This document applies to semiconductor controllers and semiconductor contactors used to connect non-motor loads to circuits, with a rated voltage not exceeding 1000 V AC. It covers the following applications: — For switching AC circuits between conducting and non-conducting states; — With or without bypass switchgear; — As controllers, used to reduce the amplitude of AC voltage RMS values. This document does not apply to: — Electromechanical contactors (see GB/T 14048.4); — Short-circuit protection devices related to semiconductor controllers and semiconductor contactors [see GB/T 14048.4 (MPSD)], GB/T 14048.2, and GB/T 14048.3); — Semiconductor motor controllers or soft starters (see GB/T 14048.6); — Semiconductor converters [see GB/T 3859 (all parts)]; — Solid-state relays (see GB/T 36640); — Products used in explosive environments [see GB/T 3836 (all parts)]; — Software and firmware requirements (see GB/Z 41912); — Cybersecurity aspects (see GB/Z 43030). The contactors and control circuit devices used in semiconductor controllers and semiconductor contactors are deemed to comply with their relevant product standards.
