本文件适用于能感应金属的和（或）非金属的物体存在与否的电感式和电容式接近开关、能感应反射声音物体存在与否的超声波式接近开关、能感应物体存在与否的光电式接近开关和能感应带有磁场的物体存在与否的非机械磁性式接近开关。
本文件范围内的产品在故障条件下不具有确定功能。具有确定功能的接近开关的要求见IEC 60947-5-3，同时需满足附加要求。
上述接近开关是独立的，并且具有半导体开关元件，能用于连接额定电压交流不超过250 V（50 Hz或60 Hz），或直流不超过300 V的电路。
