Scope

This part of GB/T 18173 specifies the terms and definitions, classification and product marking, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of water-swellable rubber in polymer waterproofing materials.
This part is applicable to water-swellable waterproofing rubber made from water-soluble polyurethane prepolymers, sodium acrylate polymer water-absorbing resins, and other water-absorbing materials combined with natural rubber, chloroprene rubber, and other rubbers. It is mainly used for sealing joints and waterproofing in various underground projects such as tunnels, pipe jacking, and civil air defense works, as well as for waterproofing in industrial equipment such as ships and locomotives.
