Scope

This standard specifies the technical and dimensional requirements for lamp sockets and starter sockets used in tubular fluorescent lamps, as well as the test methods for determining the safety and compatibility of the lamps in the sockets and the starters in the starter sockets.
This standard applies to standalone lamp sockets and built-in lamp sockets for tubular fluorescent lamps equipped with the lamps shown in Appendix A, as well as standalone starter sockets and built-in starter sockets for starters that comply with GB 20550—2006 and operate in AC circuits with a rated voltage not exceeding 1,000 V.
