This document specifies the technical requirements, marking, packaging, and manufacturer's information for self-contained open-circuit compressed air breathing apparatuses, provides classification and marking, and describes the corresponding testing methods.
This document applies to self-contained open-circuit compressed air breathing apparatuses (hereinafter referred to as air breathing apparatuses) used in industry and for emergency purposes.
This document does not apply to closed-circuit breathing apparatuses, diving breathing apparatuses, escape air breathing apparatuses, and negative-pressure air breathing apparatuses.
