GB/T 3098.6-2023 Mechanical properties of fasteners—Stainless steel bolts,screws and studs
Basic Information
Scope
This document specifies the mechanical and physical properties of coarse-threaded and fine-threaded bolts, screws, and studs (hereinafter referred to as fasteners) made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel, tested at an ambient temperature of 10 °C to 35 °C. It defines the performance grades corresponding to the groups of austenitic, martensitic, ferritic, and duplex (austenitic-ferritic) stainless steel fasteners.
GB/T 3098.25 provides general rules and additional technical information applicable to stainless steels and their properties.
Fasteners meeting the requirements of this document are tested at an ambient temperature of 10 °C to 35 °C. At higher temperatures and/or lower temperatures, the fasteners may not maintain the specified mechanical and physical properties.
Note: Fasteners meeting the requirements of this document can be used at temperatures of -20 °C to +150 °C, but can also be used at low temperatures of -196 °C and high temperatures of +300 °C. For more detailed information, see Appendix A and GB/T 3098.25.
When used outside the temperature range of -20 °C to +150 °C, it is the user's responsibility to consult an experienced fastener materials expert and consider the stainless steel composition, the exposure time at high or low temperatures, the impact of temperature on the mechanical properties of the fasteners and the clamped parts, as well as the corrosive environment of the bolt connection, in order to determine the appropriate choice for a specific application.
Note 2: When the use temperature is up to +800 °C, GB/T 3098.24 provides the selection of suitable stainless steel groups and performance grades.
Fasteners applicable to this document:
—— Comply with the ordinary thread specified in GB/T 192;
—— Comply with the diameter and pitch combination specified in GB/T 193 and GB/T 9144;
—— Coarse-threaded M1.6 to M39, fine-threaded M8×1 to M39×3;
—— Thread tolerances comply with GB/T
