Scope
This part of GB/T 3098 specifies guidelines for the selection of stainless steel and nickel alloy fasteners, and provides technical information about stainless steel and nickel alloys and their performance, which is important for the use of other mechanical performance standards for stainless steel fasteners. This part includes technical requirements for corrosion-resistant stainless steel and nickel alloys suitable for fastener manufacturing.
This part is applicable to austenitic stainless steel, martensitic stainless steel, ferritic stainless steel, and duplex (austenitic-ferritic) stainless steel, as well as nickel alloy fasteners.
Appendix A lists the common material grades of stainless steel and nickel alloy fasteners.
Appendix B provides the characteristics of a new high-strength austenitic stainless structural steel for reference during selection.
Appendix C presents the characteristics of a high-strength nitrogen-containing austenitic stainless steel for reference during selection.
