GB/T 3098.15-2023 Mechanical properties of fasteners—Stainless steel nuts
GB/T 3098.15-2023 Mechanical properties of fasteners—Stainless steel nuts
Basic Information
Scope
This document specifies the mechanical and physical properties of coarse-tooth and fine-tooth nuts made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel when tested at an ambient temperature of 10℃~35℃. It defines the performance grades corresponding to austenitic, martensitic, ferritic, and duplex (austenitic-ferritic) stainless steel nut groups.
GB/T 3098.25 provides general rules and additional technical information applicable to stainless steels and their properties.
Nuts meeting the requirements of this document are tested at an ambient temperature of 10℃~35℃. At high and/or low temperatures, the nuts may not maintain the specified mechanical and physical properties.
Note 1: The operating temperature of fasteners meeting the requirements of this document is -20℃~+150℃, but they can also be used in temperatures as low as -196℃ and as high as +300℃. For more detailed information, see GB/T 3098.25.
When used outside the temperature range of -20℃~+150℃, it is the user's responsibility to consult an experienced fastener materials expert and consider the stainless steel composition, service time at high or low temperatures, the impact of temperature on the mechanical properties of fasteners and the clamped parts, as well as the corrosive environment of the bolt connection, in order to determine the appropriate choice for special applications.
Note 2: For operating temperatures up to +800℃, GB/T 3098.24 provides guidance on the selection of appropriate stainless steel groups and performance grades.
Nuts applicable to this document:
—— Comply with the ordinary thread specified in GB/T 192;
—— Comply with the diameter and pitch combination specified in GB/T 193 and GB/T 9144;
—— Coarse-tooth threads M5~M39, fine-tooth threads M8×1~M39×3;
—— Thread tolerances comply with GB/T 197 and GB/T 9145;
—— Specified performance grades and guaranteed loads;
—— Three types of nuts: thin nuts, standard nuts, and high nuts
