Scope
This part of GB/T 33588 specifies the requirements and test methods for lightning strike counters. Lightning strike counters count the lightning current passing through a conductor, such as a conductor of a lightning protection system (LPS), a conductor connected to a surge protector (SPD), or other conductors. However, the lightning strike current flowing through these conductors should not account for the majority of the total lightning strike current.
Lightning strike counters (LSCs) are also suitable for use in hazardous environments. Components installed in such conditions must take into account the necessary additional requirements.
