Scope
This standard specifies the requirements and test methods for oral lamps used in dental clinics for illuminating patients' mouths. It also includes guidelines for manufacturers' user manuals, marking, and packaging. This standard applies to oral lamps that use any light source technology. However, it does not apply to auxiliary light sources, such as the light from dental handpieces and dental headlamps, nor to surgical lamps used in oral surgery.
