Scope

This standard applies to the design of pig slaughtering and cutting workshops in new, expanded, and renovated pig slaughterhouses. The pig slaughtering and cutting workshops shall ensure that the operating processes, hygiene, and veterinary health inspections comply with the relevant laws, regulations, and policies of the state, and should be technologically advanced, economically reasonable, energy-saving, and easy to operate and maintain. The pig slaughtering and cutting workshops shall be classified according to the following provisions: 1. Pig slaughtering workshops are divided into four grades based on the hourly slaughter capacity: - Grade I: more than 300 heads/hour (inclusive); - Grade II: 120 heads/hour (inclusive) to 300 heads/hour; - Grade III: 70 heads/hour (inclusive) to 120 heads/hour; - Grade IV: more than 30 heads/hour (inclusive) to 70 heads/hour. 2. Pig cutting workshops are divided into three grades based on the hourly cutting capacity: - Grade I: more than 200 heads/hour (inclusive); - Grade II: 50 heads/hour (inclusive) to 200 heads/hour; - Grade III: more than 30 heads/hour (inclusive) to 50 heads/hour. For export-registered factories, the design of pig slaughtering and cutting workshops shall not only meet the requirements for Grade I pig slaughtering workshops and Grade I pig cutting workshops in this standard, but also comply with the relevant requirements and regulations issued by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China regarding exports. In addition to meeting the requirements of this standard, the design of pig slaughtering and cutting workshops shall also comply with the provisions of the current national standards.
