Scope

This document specifies the planning, installation, and operation requirements for telecommunications cabling and cabling infrastructure, including requirements for cabling, pathways, space, and telecommunications connections that support common cabling standards and related documents (except those specified in GB/T 43783). The main contents include: a) installation specifications; b) quality assurance; c) installation planning; d) installation implementation; e) documentation; f) management; g) testing; h) inspection; i) operation; j) maintenance; k) repair. The requirements and recommendations in Chapters 5 to 14 are independent of the type of building complex. The requirements and recommendations for specific building complexes are specified in Appendices C to G. In addition, this document describes the evaluation methods for spaces, pathways, pathway systems, and cabling (installed or planned) that support remote power supply. This document does not include specific requirements applicable to other cabling systems (such as power supply cabling); however, it considers the impact of other cabling systems on telecommunications cabling installations (and vice versa) and provides general recommendations. This document does not include installation aspects related to free-space signal transmission between transmitters, receivers, or their associated antenna systems (such as wireless, radio, microwave, or satellite). This document is applicable to certain hazardous environments, but does not exclude additional requirements for special environments (such as power supply and electrified railways). Safety and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements are specified by other standards and are not within the scope of this document. However, the information provided in this document can help meet these standards and regulations.
