Scope

This part of GB/T 5169 specifies guidelines for assessing the fire hazard of electrical and electronic products and for establishing fire hazard test methods that directly endanger people, animals, and property. The products referred to in this part are complete electrical and electronic equipment and their components (including elements) and electrical and electronic insulating materials.
This part outlines the hazard assessment procedures suitable for fire test methods and operating guidelines for products. The principle of this method is to identify fire-related events (fire situations) associated with the product, determine the degree of correlation between measurable fire performance and the likelihood and consequences of such events, and identify test methods and operating requirements suitable for achieving acceptable fire results or completely eliminating fire events.
