Scope
This part of GB/T 5169 details the glow-wire test method for conducting flammability tests on solid electrical insulating materials or other solid material test samples, with the aim of determining the glow-wire ignition temperature (GWIT).
This test method is conducted on a series of standard test samples. The obtained data, together with those obtained by the IEC 60695-2-12 glow-wire flammability index (GWFI) test method, are used to evaluate whether the materials meet the requirements of GB/T 5169.11-2006 according to the pre-selection procedure specified in GB/T 5169.9-2013.
