Scope

This standard specifies the safety requirements for the design and manufacture of floor cutting machines (hereinafter referred to as cutting machines).
This standard applies to power-fed floor cutting machines, manual-fed floor cutting machines, or hand-propelled floor cutting machines (see 3.2~3.4), used for sawing, grooving, and milling of concrete, asphalt, and similar construction materials. These are walk-behind floor cutting machines powered by electricity or internal combustion engines. Their power transmission is either mechanical or hydraulic. They are intended to use rotating cutting wheels for wet or dry cutting. The cutting wheels can be diamond cutting wheels or boron nitride cutting wheels. If other types of cutting tools can be used within the design and operating parameters of the machine, these types of cutting tools are not included in this standard.
This standard does not apply to:
——Self-propelled floor cutting machines operated by personnel;
——Machines moving along tracks;
——Portable handheld cutting machines;
——Remote-controlled machines.
